Important dates and times for traders, brokers, and irrigators

2025–26 allocation trade closing times

The Victorian Water Register, including My Water and the Broker Portal, will close for end-of-year (EOY) processing at 12 pm Tuesday 30 June 2026.

Online applications to trade allocation within Victoria must be submitted by 12 pm on 30 June 2026 for processing in the 2025–26 water year.

Complete information for application processing for end of the 2025–26 water year was published 7 May 2026.

2026–27 allocation trade opening times

The Victorian Water Register, including My Water and the Broker Portal, will open for the commencement of the 2026–27 water year at 9 am on Wednesday 1 July 2026.

Please note the following:

  • The Broken Trade Out and NSW to Vic allocation trade opportunities open at 12 noon on Wednesday 1 July 2026. These openings will proceed with a first in, first served approach with automated processing of applications.
  • The MDBA Barmah and Goulburn-to-Murray allocation trade opportunities open for a 7-hour submission window on Thursday 2 July 2026 from 7 am to 2 pm.
  • Eligible Barmah and Goulburn-to-Murray applications submitted during the submission window will be randomised to create an order for manual processing following completion of the randomisation.
  • All trade applications submitted online will be referred to manual processing from 7am Thursday 2 July 2026 until the conclusion of processing on Friday 3 July 2026.

The My Water and Broker Portal will be briefly offline once manual processing is complete (approximately half an hour). Normal Register operations will then resume. The timing of this outage, once known, will be announced on the Victorian Water Register news.

Multi-factor Authentication

DEECA would also like to remind users that multi-factor authentication (MFA) is now required to access My Water and the Broker Portal.

With the July trade opening period approaching, users are encouraged to log in and confirm they can successfully access their account using MFA. Taking a few minutes to check access now can help avoid delays during peak trading periods.

If you experience issues accessing your account, including not receiving authentication codes or being locked out, please contact the Victorian Water Register support team as soon as possible.
